From October to April the weather turns, the city fills up and the calendar gets busy: Dubai Design Week in November, the Dubai Shopping Festival over the winter, Ramadan and Eid in early 2027, and Art Dubai in April. For photographers and filmmakers that's the season for events, launches and campaigns. Here's the calendar, what each moment needs, and how to plan for it.

What Dubai night events need

Fast lenses, high ISO
Club and terrace lighting is dark and coloured. Fast primes and a camera that stays clean at high ISO beat flash for atmosphere.
Time it to the show
Sparklers, light shows and the DJ's big moments are when the room comes alive. Ask for the run sheet.
Consent first
The UAE is strict about photographing people without consent. Signage at the door, no-photo wristbands, and ask before close portraits.
Same-night selects
Organisers and sponsors post during the event. Deliver a handful of edited images before the night ends.

03 · Planning
Plan the season, not just the job
September: update your portfolio and contact brands and agencies before the season starts.
October: confirm permits and locations for outdoor campaigns while the weather is good.
